Committees

It's true that a committee never wrote a decent ad. But the Advertising Federation wouldn't be possible without the focused efforts of busy people like you who serve on our committees. Whether your interest centers on social, education, technology or finance, we have a committee (or two) that need you.

The committee chairs welcome the contributions and assistance from all members. Plus it's a great way to network and help shape the direction of our great club.

Some may be surprised by the important and lasting contributions Pittsburgh has made to the advertising and marketing profession. The purpose of the Advertising Legacy Project committee is to honor and showcase the significant achievements and personal stories in a living, accessible and conspicuous forum. The Legacy committee, with the support of our board and sponsors, are in the process of this repository for students, journalists, visitors and residents of Western Pennsylvania to learn, explore and appreciate the role of advertising and marketing communications in our community and the nation.

Creating an active bridge between classroom and career is the goal of our Education committee. We work with the individual Ad Federation College Chapters to provide speakers, seminars and portfolio reviews to college students who are considering the field of marketing and advertising. We also work to fulfill requests from high school groups and teachers looking to bring in professionals to share insights and case studies with students.

Media Auction
Every year, the Advertising Federation, along with the Media Association of Pittsburgh (MAP) conduct the Media Auction. It's a chance to raise funds and offset costs while also connecting businesses and individuals with valuable media properties and marketing services. The Media Auction has quickly become one of the most successful and anticipated events of our year, and it's never too early to start cultivating sponsors, contributors and publicity for this coming November.
