Summary: Marcus Thomas LLC, an award-winning, full-service marketing communications agency located in Cleveland, Ohio, is searching for an experienced and exceptionally talented art director to join its creative department. This role will work with members of integrated teams (account management, planning, interactive and other creatives) to develop great work and strategic solutions for a variety of high-profile, Fortune 500 clients. The brands are awesome and the work is smart. The top candidate for this job is a rock star creative with a killer book filled with amazing ideas. Responsibilities: • Develop creative solutions that support defined strategies with the majority of assignments accepted by the creative director and our client(s) without major revision. And above that, produce work that regularly receives positive recognition from the creative department, agency staff and clients. • Collaborate with copywriters to develop strong concepts (traditional and nontraditional) that meet advertising and marketing objectives. • Continually push the art direction and design on each assigned project. • Direct and execute assigned projects manage photo shoots, designers and events as appropriate. • Work within a variety of media from traditional print to WOM to interactive solutions. • Prepare flawless work for client presentations. • Take an active interest in our clients’ businesses and develop solid knowledge of their brands, products and audiences. • Work cooperatively with a variety of team members and disciplines while following internal processes and timelines to develop creative work that reflects inspired thinking.
Requirements:
Requirements: • Six-eight years’ experience as an art director within an advertising or marketing communications agency. • A four-year degree in graphic design, fine arts or other related field. • A killer portfolio with amazing ideas, concepts and creative solutions. • Experience and ability to think across all mediums and channels from traditional to digital to social media. • A strong design and interactive (Web) background is a huge plus. • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator and InDesign. • Experience with Flash is a plus. • Experience with, and understanding of the print production process. • The ability to “own” projects and supervise activities and production as necessary. • Must be able to move work and multiple projects quickly within the agency by following internal processes and timelines. • Confidence and persuasiveness to present and defend work to bosses, co-workers and clients. • An articulate, friendly, “whatever-it-takes”, down-to-earth attitude, along with a strong work ethic.
